The World Women's Boxing Championship 2023 was held in New Delhi, India from March 16th to 26th. Wang Lina, a student athlete from the boxing team of Ocean University of China, was selected to the national team and represented China in the 81kg weight category. This competition was also a battle for Wang to win her second World Championship gold medal. During the competition, Wang Lina showed her skilled techniques and abundant experience, winning all the way to the finals. In the final on the 25th, she won the silver medal with a score close to the champion. After the game, Wang Lina said that she would challenge the gold medal again in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
According to Professor Yu Lianzhi, head coach of the boxing team of Ocean University of China, the World Women's Boxing Championships is the highest level competition in women's boxing, held every two years. The team was established in 2008. Since its student athletes first joined the national team to participate in the World Women's Boxing Championship in 2010, they have won 6 gold medals and 4 silver medals, winning honor for the country and the university.
