Ocean University of China held the Third International Children’s Literature Symposium

On October 16, Ocean University of China held the Third International Children’s Literature Symposium on “Interdisciplinary Studies of Children’s Literature” online. The symposium brought tougher more than 100 experts and scholars at home and abroad. More than 10,000 people watched the webcast live. During the conference, scholars exchanged ideas on the theory, cultural industry, education, comparative research, translation and new media of children’s literature.


The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Zhu Ziqiang, winner of the 18th International Brothers Grimm Award, Vice President of the China Society for the Studies of Children’s Literature and professor of the College of Literal Arts, Journalism and Communication of OUC. Prof. Lu Guangzhi, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of OUC, extended a warm welcome to the experts and scholars in his welcome remarks. He pointed out that the International Children’s Literature Symposium has become a brand with international influence, and OUC is well on its way to become an international center for high-end research on children’s literature.


The conference lasted two days and concluded with fruitful outcomes. It was announced at the end of the meeting that the next symposium, co-sponsored by Ocean University of China,will be held at the University of Newcastle in 2023.
