The 10th China-Russia Arctic Forum Held Online

The 10th China-Russia Arctic Forum successfully concluded on September 6, 2021. It was co-hosted by St Petersburg State University and Ocean University of China (OUC). Participants from more than 30 Chinese and Russian universities, research institutes, and enterprises attended the meeting online to discuss important topics under the theme “Bilateral and Multilateral Trans-regional Cooperation in the Arctic”. Prof. Li Huajun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice President of OUC, expressed his thanks to the scholars and experts in his welcome speech.


The two sides reviewed the fruitful outcomes of China-Russia education and research collaboration over the years, and discussed possibilities of enhancing scientific cooperation and promoting the exchange of talent in the future. The Russian side expressed its hopes of further expanding educational cooperation with OUC and other Chinese universities.


The China-Russia Arctic Forum, founded in 2012, has been successfully held ten times. Arctic scholars of the two countries strive to make the forum an integrated platform for academic exchanges, educational cooperation, industrial services, and policy advising that contributes to the  substantive cooperation between China and Russia.
