On July 22, Counsellor Huang Xuehu from the Chinese Embassy in Kiribati visited Ocean University of China (OUC). Prof. Wu Qiangming, Assistant President of OUC received the delegation. He pointed out in his welcome remarks that OUC attaches great importance to the education of its Kiribati students. There have been 30 Kiribati students studying at OUC since 2019. OUC stands ready to leverage its strength in oceanography and fisheries to expand educational exchange and cooperation with Kiribati, and make contributions to the friendly relations between the two countries.

Counsellor Huang Xuehu said that OUC has the largest number of Kiribati students in China. He hoped that the university would contribute as always to the consolidation and development of the friendly relations between the two countries, give full play to its academic strengths, and further ramp up cooperation in education and research through talent cultivation.
