OUC Student Wins Gold Medal at World Boxing Championships in Bulgaria

Ms Yang Wenlu won the gold medal in the women’s 64kg final at the World Boxing Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria on February 27th, 2016. A student of Ocean University of China (OUC), the gold-medalist is also an athlete of the OUC boxing team. She was representing China in this competition.


Prof. Yu Lianzhi, the head coach of the OUC boxing team, said Ms Yang’s success can be attributed to her physical fitness and indomitability. Wenlu has won the Grand Slam of National Tournament, Classic and Championship as well as the gold medal in the women’s 64kg final at the Asian Women’s Boxing Championship.


With more than 300 boxers from over 40 countries being brought together in this competition, the Chinese team won three gold and two silver medals in all.
