Vice President Dong shakes hands with Prof. Giller after Signing the MOU

Prof. Dong Shuanglin, Vice President of Ocean University of China (OUC), met with a delegation from University College Cork (UCC) led by Prof. Paul Giller, Senior Vice President Academic, on July 16, 2015 at the Yushan campus. The two sides discussed possibilities of collaboration in such areas as information technology and aquaculture. 

Vice President Dong welcomed the Irish delegation before briefing the visiting guests on the progress of OUC’s internationalization strategy. He said the current visit made by Prof. Giller will promote the bilateral cooperation, particularly in mutual visit of faculty members and joint educational programs. 

Prof. Giller also gave an overview of UCC. He said he is pleased to have the opportunity to work together with OUC, saying that he is looking forward to a closer and long-term collaboration with OUC.

Mr. Wang Guangzheng, vice mayor of Qingdao municipal government, witnessed the signing of the MOU. Dr. Kieran Drain, CEO of Tyndall National Institute and representatives from both universities were also present at the meeting.
