According to the latest statistics released by the ESI database on July 9, 2015, OUC has reached the top 1% of the most-cited universities and scientific institutions in the field of pharmacology/toxicology. At present, there are 719 research institutes among this rank, with 30 universities in mainland China, such as Peking University, Zhejiang University, Shenyang Pharmaceutical University and Fudan University.

So far, OUC has boasted the top 1% of the most-cited universities and scientific institutions in nine research fields including plant & animal science, earth science, engineering, chemistry, agricultural sciences, materials science, biology and biochemistry, environment/ecology, and pharmacology/toxicology. This put OUC in a tie with Jiling University and Xiamen University for the 16th place in the list of “Project 985”.
