Prof. Li Weiran, vice president of the Ocean University of China (OUC), welcomed Prof. Putlitz, former rector of Heidelberg University, as well as Mr. Li Peng, deputy secretary-general of Society for Germany Studies of Qingdao, on July 11, 2015 at the Yuchan Campus. 

During the meeting, Vice Present Li gave an overview of OUC to the visiting guests. He said that OUC has enjoyed long-term cooperation with many German universities, such as University of Bremen, University of Hamburg and University of Kiel, adding that he wishes to build a mutually beneficial cooperation with Heidelberg University through Prof. Putlitz’s visit, which will be helpful in laying the foundation for developing future cooperation between the two sides. 

Prof. Putlitz also gave an introduction to the strong academic areas, discipline development and reform in the educational system at Heidelberg University. He sincerely wishes that Heidelberg University could start collaborative and exchange activities with OUC, in order to promote the progress in the related disciplines at both universities.

Representatives from OUC’s International Office and Foreign Languages College were also present at the meeting.
