
Prof. Li Huajun, vice president of the Ocean University of China (OUC), met with Prof. Helen Nicholson, Pro Vice Chancellor for International Relations, and the delegation of Dunedin City to discuss possibilities of student exchange and related issues on May 4, 2015 at the Laoshan Campus.
In his welcome speech, Prof. Li Huajun wishes both sides could conduct concrete cooperative activities and achieve more positive results in joint education and research programs.
Pro Vice Chancellor Nicholson said that the purpose of the visit by her delegation was to increase mutual understanding and establish a closer connection with OUC.
During the discussion, Prof. Keith Hunter, the Pro Vice Chancellor for Science of Otago University, introduced some of their prominent professors as well as their research programs.
Following Associate Professor Hong Tao’s introduction to the Department of Physical Education at OUC, Prof. Keith Hunter from Otago University said that both sides have complementary traits in this area. “We are looking forward to further discussions about the details of the student exchange program in PE,” he said.
At the meeting, a MOU and Student Exchange Agreement between OUC and Otago University were signed.
Representatives from OUC’s International Office, School of International Education, Educational Administration Office, and College of Economics were also present.
