MU Assistant Provost Visits OUC

A delegation from Miami University (MU) led by its assistant provost Dr. Cheryl Young, visited OUC on Dec. 10th, 2014 to seek possibilities of undergraduate student exchange programs and the mutual exchange of faculties between the two universities.

Prof. Li Huajun, vice president of OUC, welcomed the guests and gave the guests an overview of OUC. “OUC has been stepping up its internationalization drive to invigorate the university and hopes to establish a long-term cooperative tie with MU through the visit of Dr. Young,” said Vice President Li in his welcome speech, adding that MU is a prestigious university which has accumulated great experiences in educating undergraduate students in particular. Vice President Li also invited Dr. Young to give a lecture to the administrators at OUC in the future, so that they can learn more about educational administration from MU.

“My trip to China was exclusively dedicated to OUC,” said Dr. Young. After briefly introducing the disciplinary development at MU, Dr. Young said that MU attaches great importance to preparing students with high calibre and an international vision. The university also encourages students to obtain credits from overseas learning experience at foreign universities. “I hope we can cooperate on a joint educational program for undergraduate students with OUC,” she added.

Representatives from the International Office and the College of Environmental Science & Engineering were also present at the meeting.
