Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, President of the Ocean University of Sri Lanka (OCU) and his colleague attended the President Forum on Higher Education for a Sustainable Ocean: Global Partnerships and Networks, which was hosted by Ocean University of China (OUC) on October 23rd, 2014.

Prof. Yu Zhigang, President of OUC, and Prof. Li Huajun, Vice President of OUC, met with the Sri Lanka delegation at the Academic Exchange Center at OUC, during which an Agreement for Cooperation was signed between the two sides.

In his welcoming speech, President Yu Zhigang said that China and Sri Lanka share a deep friendship while the two universities enjoy a common disciplinary foundation in marine-related subjects. He wishes to strengthen the cooperation and exchanges between OUC and OCU in marine science.

President Ranjith Senaratne expressed his congratulations to OUC’s 90th anniversary. “I am very glad to attend this summit and hope to exchange ideas with other participants in terms of cooperation in marine-related fields during the summit,” said President Senaratne.
