China-Korea Symposium Kicks Off

The 3rd China-Korea Symposium on Research of Nano-biomaterial Technology convened in the Academic Exchange Center of Ocean University of China (OUC) on June 17 - 18, 2014.


Prof. Chen Xiguang, with the College of Marine Life Science at OUC, chaired this symposium. Prof. Park Hyun Jin, an academician with Korean University, was invited and gave a presentation on Nano-biomaterial Technology. Accompanying him were five research team members.


At this symposium, the two sides held an in-depth discussion over the latest developments in the preparation and production of Nano-biomaterials, biological activity, and their applications in the field of biomedicine.

 
The China-Korea Symposium on Research of Nano-biomaterial Technology was initiated by the College of Marine Life Science of OUC and its counterpart at Korean University. With support from the Center for Sino-Korea Cooperation in Marine Bio-materials of Shandong Province and the Key Laboratory for Biochemistry and Bio-materials of Shandong Province, and on the basis of the Sino-Korea international cooperative key projects, this symposium was launched to serve as a mechanism for academic exchange. The mission of this symposium is to consolidate the achievements which have been made, and promote further international cooperation with an effort to maintain and enhance the research strength of the two sides. It is a biannual event, hosted by China and Korea in rotation. Thanks to its previous success, the 3rd China-Korea Symposium on Research of Nano-biomaterial Technology has gained wide popularity in the international arena.
