The book entitled Chinese Communicating Interculturally was published by Digital Press in America in June, 2014. It is co-authored by Prof. Li Mengyu from the College of Literature and Journalism at Ocean University of China ( OUC ) and Prof. Michael H. Prosser, founder of the discipline of intercultural communication and professor at the University of Virginia ( UVA ).
As part of the Discipline Curriculum Series Textbook, the book was published by Higher Education Press in China in June, 2012, and has received great acclaim. It was then introduced to America through Digital Press.
The book is rich in content and new in style, reflecting the latest results in the field of intercultural communication. It not only presents the core content in this field comprehensively and systematically, but also highlights the characteristics of Chinese culture against the backdrop of the world’s multiple cultures. Its publication in America indicates that OUC’s studies in intercultural communication have had a profound academic influence internationally, and the study has reached a new academic level.
Prof. Li Mengyu has long worked on intercultural communication and comparative literature. She has been to the University of Cambridge and the University of Louisville as a visiting scholar and has been invited to America, Britain, Japan, Singapore, and Macao to attend international conferences on intercultural communication. At present, she is a reviewer for papers published in the international academic journal Intercultural Communication Studies.
