Ambassador Visits OUC



Prof. Wu Dexing, the President of Ocean University of China (OUC) met with Mr. Julio Cesar Freire De Morais, Ambassador of Cape Verde to China, and his attaché at Laoshan Campus on March 21, 2014.


In the meeting, President Wu spoke highly of the eight students from Cape Verde who are currently pursuing Master’s or Doctoral degrees at OUC. “They will surely enhance the friendship between Cape Verde and China,” President Wu said.


He also pointed out that the project of the Sino-Cape Verde Joint Laboratory of Marine Life Science is increasing its activities in accordance with the procedures of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.


Echoing President Wu, Mr. Julio Cesar Freire De Morais extended his thanks to OUC for its assistance to Cape Verde in the training of talent and marine-related research.


The visit of Mr. Julio Cesar Freire De Morais was mainly to seek opportunities for cooperation between the two sides on the establishment of the Sea Park in Cape Verde.


“I sincerely welcome your assistance in expert consultation, design proposal, and technical support,” he said.


After the meeting, the ambassador also had a detailed discussion about the possibility of cooperation with relevant personnel from the College of Fisheries and the International Office.
