Marine Molecular Pharmaceutics Lab

about the lab

welcometo the marine molecular pharmaceutics lab

The Marine Molecular Pharmaceutics Lab is the lab for Nanotechnology in Marine Drug Delivery, which focuses on improving human health by safely and effectively translating new marine drug into clinical trials using nanotechnology and biotechnology.Over the past five years, the lab members have been developing targeted delivery systems to accommodate specific therapeutic strategies in malignant tumor, e.g. targeted delivery systems for breast cancer/pancreatic cancer/melanoma. The lab has contrived taxane nanomedicine fortargeted therapy of breast cancer based on EPR effect. Recently, the lab has contrived another Cell-Specific aptamer-LNPs carrier facilitating marine drug specifically targeting cancerous cell to provide efficient inhibition of tumor cell growth (cell-specific level) (Figure 1).

Research Fields:

Developing targeted marine drug delivery systems with both cell-selectivity andintracellular bioactivity for achieving efficacy and safety.

Developing new nanopolymer-based cargo systems from marine polysaccharide.

Providing expert services in all facets of pharmaceutical analysis to establish specification for active pharmaceutic ingredient (API) and formulation according to the instructions of FDA /CFDA.
