Research Fields and Interests

1. Chemical Foundation of Marine Medicinal Resources

Research of New Marine Biological Resources in the Distant Sea: On the research basis of marine medicinal corals, sponges, mangrove plants, coastal wetland plant in the offshore of South China Sea, in recent years, our researchmainly focusedon new benthic organisms resources in the Xisha and Nansha Islands of open sea area for in-depth chemical diversity and biodiversity. We have obtainedlots of new precious biological resources, sponges and corals, and have discovered many new and novel structural skeletons withstrong anti-tumor activity.

2. R&D of New Traditional Marine Chinese Medicine

R&D of Modern Traditional Chinese Medicine (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine): mainly focused on improving the quality standards oftraditional Chinese marine medicine, standardization research for preclinical registration of new medicine, including the confirmation of chemical structure or composition, preparation process, quality standards, and stability testing. We have cooperated with enterprises to complete many researches, e.g. "fingerprint correlation of Danhong injection (powder for injection)", "fingerprints of injectable Shuxuening and Hedyotis diffusa", "class one new veterinary medicinecomposition and quality standard of Echinaceaand its agents", and "quality standard research of several veterinary drugs".
