Principal Investigator:

Wengong Yu is a professor of molecular biology and PhD supervisor in School of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ocean University of China. Prof. Yu graduated from Shandong Medical University on Jul 1988, and earned his MD degree in 1997 at Osaka University. He has been on faculty in OUC since Oct 1998. His research is focused on molecular enzymology, glycobiology and marine drugs. He has published more than 100 papers (over 50 papers were included in SCI/EI) and applied 21 Chinese patents for invention, 8 of which have been granted. He won the second class of innovation award of State Oceanic Administration (2nd, 2003), first class award of State Technological Invention Award (3rd, 2009), topnotch talent of Qingdao (2013).

2. Research on novel anti-infective agents using bacterial quorum sensing and biofilm as targets.

3. Molecular mechanism of glycosyltransferases and cancer metastasis.
