The laboratory was officially establishedin 2002 and passed the inspection of MOE 5 years later. Its main researchinterests include offshore environmental dynamic processes & their impactson ecosystem, environmental behaviors & control technologies of typicaloffshore pollutants, and engineering environment & water resourcesconservation along coastal zones. Its four experimental platforms are capableof experimental analysis and testing, field monitoring, simulation &engineering tests, and environmental numerical simulation & analysis. Allthe research teams are led by CAS academicians, chief scientists of 973National Key Projects or recipients of National Natural Science Fund forOutstanding Young Scientists.
