The history of College of Environmental Science and Engineering (CESE), OceanUniversity of China (OUC), can be traced back to the 1970s. OUC was approved toestablish Marine Environmental Protection and Research Center by the Ministryof Education, China in 1984 and to initiate doctoral & master’s programs inenvironmental oceanography in 1990. In 1998, the Research Institute ofEnvironmental Science and Engineering was founded, and the year of 2001witnessed the formal establishment of CESE.
