Materials Science

Materials Science is an applied fundamental discipline, focusing on the interrelations between the structures, processing, properties and characteristics of materials. Its main task is to provide scientific basis for materials designing, manufacturing and processing optimization. The main research is focused on the covering materials corrosion and protection, deep-sea functional polymer material, energy materials. At present, the discipline has 5 professors,14 associate professors. They are: Wang Xin (Chairman), Chen Shou-gang, Liu Ying-cai, Liu Wei, Fu Yu-bin. Master’s students are required to take no less than 30 credits, of which 7 credits must be taken by Common Required Courses, Discipline Required Courses credits no less than 9, and courses that culminate in examinations may not comprise less than 14 credits.
