Dr. Zhang`s research focuses on physical pharmacy, industrial pharmacy, and pharmaceutical engineering, specifically on drug delivery, the development of oral sustained and controlled release dosages, as well as the application of hot-melt extrusionand 3D printing technologies for novel drug delivery system development. Dr. Zhangused to work as an ORISE fellow in U.S. FDA.and also completed a cooperation project between UT Austin and Advance Materials Inc., and established a continuous manufacturing platformof hot-melt extrusion of solid dispersion/drug co-crystals. In the recent 5 years, he has published 21 papers in peer-reviewed journals with a total of more than 960 citations, including 2 highly cited articles.He has won the best oral presentation awards of the 2018 CRS annual meeting, the best abstracts awards in AAPS annual meetings, and other awards. Dr. Zhang has 6 and 4 patents patented in China and US, respectively. |
