From October 26th to 28th, the 40th anniversary of The Chinese Society for Oceanography and 2018 Ocean Science and Technology Awards Ceremony were held in San Ya, Hainan Province, in recognition of the collectives and individuals that had made outstanding contributions in marine science and technology innovation. The achievement of Research on Key Technologies and Innovative Drugs for the High Value of Marine Fucoidan Polysaccharides hosted by Professor Guangli Yu of our college won the 2018 Second Prize of Marine Science and Technology. The list of winners is as follows: Guangli Yu, Xia Zhao, Jiejie Hao, Chunxia Li, Wei Wang, Huashi Guan.

A total of 38 projects won the 2018 Marine science and technology award, including 10 first prizes, 28 second prizes and 17 excellent Marine science and technology books. Ocean university of China hosted five second prizes and five excellent Marine science and technology books, winning a record number of awards, ranking first in the country.
