Research Interests

Focusing on the structural diversity and broad-spectrum biological functions of new structural and functional molecules in marine sponges and corals, more than 600 compounds of various structural types were obtained, including 200 new compounds and 40 new skeleton compounds. Preliminary activity evaluation showed that dozens of compounds had strong cytotoxic, antifouling and antivirus activities. The preliminary results of the ongoing research on the utilization of sponges and corals in Xisha Islands prove that the biological resources of sponges and corals in the distant Xisha Islands are obviously different from those in the offshore areas, and have significant marine characteristics.
