
On March 6, 2025, the OUC-YORK Joint Program Meeting was successfully held. The event was attended by Professor Yu Guodong, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages(CFL), and Professor Chen Ying, Vice Dean of CFL. Professor Paul Drew, a renowned scholar in the field of applied linguistics from the University of York and a distinguished professor at Ocean University of China, was invited to participate in the Meeting.
Dean Yu emphasized that the program with the University of York not only provides students with high-quality overseas study opportunities but also lays a solid foundation for future academic exchanges and research cooperation between the two institutions. He stated that CFL will take this program as a foundation to further enhance international talent cultivation and promote more fruitful outcomes in the partnership.
Professor Paul Drew introduced the academic strengths, research directions, and international collaboration efforts of the Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of York, with a particular focus on the detailed arrangements made for the joint program, including the curriculum structure and academic support. He highlighted the long-standing and close relationship between the University of York and the College of Foreign Languages at Ocean University of China. The joint program provides an excellent platform for OUC undergraduate and graduate students to further enhance their academic abilities and broaden their international perspectives.
Moving forward, CFL will continue to expand international exchange opportunities, provide high-quality global learning resources, and support students in gaining valuable international academic and cultural experiences.
