Dr. Wenli LI currently is Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ocean University of China. She received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003 (1998-2003), and carried out postdoctoral research in School of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin-Madison (2004-2008). After a research career in the pharmaceutical product development (PPD) company in the US (2008-2009), she took a position as a full Professor in the School of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ocean University of China in 2009. Prof. Li’s current research focuses on the biosynthesis of secondary metabolitesfrommarine microorganisms, and metabolic engineering by genetic and combinatorial strategies. She has about 30 papers on these and related topics.
