Engaged in marine sedimentary processes, global change and its regional response, marine geological disasters, submarine security and detection technology and submarine engineering. During "Tenth Five -Year" period, the research group undertook one key project and 5 normal projects of National Natural Science Foundation, three projects of 973, three projects of 863, four projects of 908 special issues, and undertook more than 100 items of technology services for large-scale enterprises. Publication is more than 100 papers in international and domestic academic journals. The group got one provincial-level first-prize award, two second-prize awards and one invention patent and published two monographs. The group is one of the earliest to carrying out research and personnel training on marine engineering geology, marine geological disasters, and was selected as one long-term technical support unit of many marine oilfields.
The main Research Directions:
1. Sediment effect and the sedimentary record of " source to sink"
Marine sediments around the "source to sink" effect, the evolution of marine sedimentary records to work with the environment, the direction of future breakthroughs: (1) transportion, sedimentation and redistribution and mechanisms of particulate matter in estuarine, coastal and shelf sea edge; (2) biogenic elements associated with shelf sea particulate matter and pollutants-related "source to sink" processes and environmental effects; (3) submarine evolution and sedimentary records, the submarine environment and its response to global climate change.
2. Submarine deposition process and engineering safety
Focusing on sedimentary environment and submarine deposition process, submarine detection and engineering safety evaluation, the next breakthrough as follows: (1) combined with our deep-sea energy development, accelerate mapping of sedimentary and engineering environments in the South China Sea; (2) preparation of mechanism, formation and evolution of submarine geological disasters, promotion of complex submarine engineering patterns; (3) ocean engineering security detection technology to detect the development of automatic identification systems of submarine pipeline state; (4) the gradual improvement of victory CHENGDAO oilfield submarine engineering digital system, becoming typical digitization of submarine engineering.
3. Marine engineering geology and environmental assessment
Around the dynamics, to carry out marine engineering geological survey and evaluation of submarine soil, the next breakthrough are as follows: (1) the dynamic response mechanism of soil under the combined sea waves, currents and tides effects; (2) mechanism of marine geological disaster and its impact evaluation to submarine engineering; (3) assessment and software system development of submarine engineering safety.
