III. Research Domains

1. General

lMarine Geology, Marine Geochemistry, Submarine monitoring and sampling techniques.

2. Recent interests

lMagmatism and its tectonic implacations of Back-arc basin in the Western Pacific

lThe research employ the state of the art benthic observatory (Benvir) and related in situ technologies to quatify local gas seepage and methane flux intemporal and spatial scale for a long term, and to analyze the discharge of methane from seabed related to the complex physical control factors in coldseep area of South China Sea. It is aimed to investigate the machanism of their variation on sub-seabed, seabed and benthic ecosystems. This study can contribute to our understanding of the exact relationship of fluid and gas seepage to climate change, geochemistry and migration structure.
