VI. Courses Taught

lUndergraduate: Coastal morphodynamics

lPostgraduate: Marine Geology (Coastal Zone)

VII. Research Interests:

lMarine sedimentary environment and environmental magnetism: We focus on the study of magnetic properties to indicate climate change and iron bio-mineralization because sediments with ironmineral are sensitive to many environmental processes.

lCoastaland estuarine morphodynamics. We particularly aim to understand long term (decadal to hundreds) variation of channels in estuaries.

lBeach evolution and dynamics. We are interested in equilibrium reestablishment, beach zonation, and hydrodynamic influence before and after beach nourishment using the field measurement regularly and sediment magnetic properties.

VIII. Key Projects as the Principle Investigator (PI):

lProgram of NSFC, “Classification of magnetic properties of sediment in the Yellow and Bohai Seas using fuzzy cluster analysis and its significances on sedimentary environments”(41376054, 2014.01-2017.12)

lProgram of NSFC, “Formation and environmental factor interpretation of bacterial magnetic minerals in muddy deposits of the Continental Shelf Seas in Eastern China”(41176039, 2012.01-2015.12)

lProgram of NSFC, “Sedimentary and geomorphological evolution and their interaction with hydrodynamics in the duel-channels of the Changjiang Estuary”(40406015, 2005.01-2007.12)

lProgram of Shandong NSFC, “Variation of water and sediment discharges and its effects on geomorphological and sedimentary environment in the Huanghe Estuary”(ZR201DZ001, 2012.01-2014.12)
