Electronic Engineering

Department of Electronic Engineering (EE) was established in 1992. It has one doctoral program in Intelligent Information and Communication Systems, three master programs and three undergraduate programs. The master students can specialize in one of three programs: Signal and Information Processing, Communication and Information System, and Electronic and Communication Engineering. And the three undergraduate programs are in the area of Electronic Information Science and Technology, Electronic Information Engineering, and Communication Engineering. Currently, there are more than 800 undergraduate students and more than 300 graduate students in EE.

The research areas of the department are based on electronic information and communication, and featured with signal perception and analysis, intelligent information processing and communication systems. In recent years, the department has made considerable achievements in the fields of underwater surveillance and detection equipments, marine robotic systems and sensors with the support of many funds such as National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (“863”), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Key Technology R&D Program and the projects of International Cooperation and Exchanges. It has become one of the key institutes in the field of information and engineering technology at Ocean University of China. The department has a wide-ranging cooperation with domestic research institutions and some universities from other countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Canada, Japan and Singapore.
