RESEARCH
Research Interests:
My research focuses on physiology and ecology of marine macroalgae. My research has an emphasis on:
§ Marine flora in China Yellow Sea;
§ Physiological Ecology of the brown algae in Sargassum;
§ Innovations of the technique and management in algal aquaculture;
§ Chemical signaling between marine algae and herbivores;
§ Deforestation and restoration of marine kelp forests.
Current Research Projects (recent 5 years):
§ Bioaccumulation and biodegradation of organotin compounds in the edible brown alga Undaria pinnatifida, National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No. 31201328), 2013-2015 (PI)
§ Allelochemicals and their defense mechanisms of the large brown algae in Sargassum,Research Fund of young scholars for the Doctoral Program of Higher Education of China (No. 20100132120023), 2011-2013 (PI)
§ Technological research and demonstration for clean production and environmental safety in typical waters, Public Science and Technology Research Funds Projects of Ocean (Grant No. 200905020), 2009-2012
