Post-doctoral system, as an important way to attract and educate outstanding young and talented researchers and a main source of faculty members, has played a significant role in enhancing the capability of independent innovation, expanding the innovative talents team and training high-level professionals and experts. Taking the post-doctoral system as an indispensable part in educating high-level innovative talents over the years, Ocean University of China (OUC) gives full play to the features and advantages of maritime subjects, carrying forward the development of post-doctoral research programs and improving the quality in training post-doctors, thus providing a number of high-quality professionals to industries of all kinds and excellent teachers to the university.
Since its establishment in 1988, Ocean university of China has launched 12 post-doctoral research programs, covering 51 sub-disciplines, including Marine science, Atmospheric Science, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science and Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Food Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Fishery, Pharmacy, Business Management, and Law. So far, the university has taken more than 330 post-doctoral researchers, over 50 of whom found jobs here in Qingdao after they completed their post-doctoral research. Currently, there are more than 170 post-doctoral research fellows doing research in the program.
